One Rug, One Tree

Ireland is the most deforested country in Europe. Less than 2% of our native woodlands remain. The rolling green fields were once dense with oak, ash, hazel and yew. These trees shaped our stories, our language, and our identity. The Ogham alphabet was written in trees. Sacred sites were marked by them. They were not just part of the landscape. They were part of us.

What Hometree Is Doing

Hometree is working to restore what was lost. Based in the west of Ireland, they are rebuilding native woodlands, one acre at a time, through rewilding, afforestation and ecological education. Their work protects biodiversity, restores natural ecosystems, and reconnects communities with the land that holds our history.
